Partner with Opportunities, Inc. to support programs that promote inclusion, employment, and community connection for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Volunteer

Opportunities for people with IDD to give their time and skills to your organization through volunteer service work with the support of Opp, Inc. Community Support Professionals.

Examples

  • Have a group volunteer for 2 hours (1:4 ratio)
  • Create volunteer positions for 1 or 2 people

Internship

Structured, time-limited work opportunities where people gain practical experience. Usually, unpaid.

Examples

  • Have a small group learn from your company for 2-4 hours 2xweek for a month
  • Offer seasonal opportunities

Networking

Connections with professionals/organizations for collaboration and future opportunities.

Example

  • Invite us to your community meetings

Mentorship

Pairing people with professionals for career guidance and support.

Short-term experience observing professionals in their work environment.

Examples

  • Offer someone a 2 week observation experience
  • Arrange one-day shadows with multiple departments
  • Provide rotating shadow opportunities across multiple departments

Experiential Learning Site

Hands-on opportunities to practice skills in real-world settings.

Examples

  • Host a small group and teach them specific industry skills then let them practice
  • Kitchen training opportunities
  • Retail stores – practice stocking, cashiering

Events that connect people with local resources and opportunities.

Examples

  • Co-host a resource fair with local employers
  • Organize a networking night with area nonprofits and businesses
  • Invite local businesses to present career pathways at a co-hosted event
