A Community-Driven Path and Vision for the Future

Over the past several months, we’ve gathered insights from the people we support, their families, our staff, and community partners—all with one goal in mind: shaping a stronger, more inclusive future.

This plan reflects the ideas, hopes, and priorities we heard along the way. It’s a shared vision for what comes next—and a clear, thoughtful path to help us get there, together.

How We Got Here

In January of this year, we began a journey to look ahead and ask ourselves: How will we shape a future of bold opportunities, meaningful connections, and transformative impact as we continue empowering people with developmental and intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, inclusive lives?

From there, we identified recurring themes such as values and hopes that came through every conversation. We then shaped those ideas into shared priorities, and from there, we built clear, measurable goals.

At Opportunities, Inc., we believe people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) deserve to live fully included, self-directed lives with equitable access to opportunities, supports, and a stigma-free community.

Goal 1: Empower people with IDD to live self-directed, inclusive lives.

By June 30, 2026, create 5 new meaningful ways for people with IDD to lead, give input, and make choices about their own lives and services they receive.
By December 31, 2025, create a database to track current community partnerships.
By June 30, 2026, develop at least 5 new community partnerships that create opportunities for people in services.
By June 30, 2027, increase the number of community partnership opportunities available by 25%.

Goal 2: Foster equity, innovation, and inclusion so everyone thrives on their own terms.

By December 30, 2025, implement a bi-annual feedback system seeking participation from people supported and families.
Using the results from the feedback system, implement two service improvements by December 30, 2026 and a minimum of 2 per year every year after.
By January, 2026, gather data about current self-advocacy training and networking opportunities for people in services.
By June 30, 2027, increase access to self-advocacy formal training or networking opportunities by 25%.

We foster a workplace culture where every team member feels valued, empowered, and supported to grow professionally and personally.

Goal 1: Cultivate a people-centered, values-driven workplace.

Goal 2: Strengthen organizational capacity and collaboration.

By July 2026, create at least three cross-functional project teams to address goals, best practices, and strengthen communication.
By July 2026, implement quarterly All-Staff Forums and bi-monthly Leadership Roundtables starting in October 2025 to maintain open communication, gather staff input, and share progress on organizational priorities.
By June 30, 2027, create and implement a career ladder/ lattice framework to encourage staff growth within the organization and the field.
By July 2027, develop and launch a structured Employee Recognition Program to highlight achievements related to purpose, performance, and impact.
