Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)
Honoring access, equity, and opportunity for all.
Each October, Opportunities, Inc. joins organizations across the country in celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This is a time to recognize the contributions of workers with disabilities and to promote inclusive employment practices that benefit everyone.
This year’s theme is “Access, Equity, and Opportunity.” It reminds us that everyone deserves a fair chance to succeed at work. Workplaces should welcome all people, including those with disabilities, and help them grow. When everyone has access to good jobs and support, our whole community becomes stronger.
Why NDEAM Matters
Employment plays a vital role in helping people live full, independent, and connected lives.
Yet, people with disabilities continue to face barriers to employment and advancement. NDEAM is a reminder that when we build inclusive workplaces, we build stronger communities.
At Opportunities, Inc., we’re proud to stand at the forefront of that mission. Through our Employment Services and Community Life Engagement programs, we support people in developing the skills, confidence, and experience needed to find and maintain meaningful work. We also partner with businesses and organizations that are committed to diversity and inclusion. Creating job opportunities that empower people to thrive is the top priority.
Our Commitment to Inclusion
Every day, our team works to ensure that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the support they need to achieve their goals.
Whether it’s job coaching, skills training, or connecting with inclusive employers, we believe in the potential of every person to contribute and succeed. NDEAM is more than a celebration — it’s a call to action. Together, we can break down barriers, challenge assumptions, and continue creating pathways toward opportunity.
Join Us in Celebrating NDEAM
This month, and every month, we invite you to join us in celebrating the talents and achievements of workers with disabilities. Let’s keep building workplaces that reflect the diversity, creativity, and strength of our entire community.
